You can protect your knees by wearing dance knee pads, particularly when doing exotic flow. They protect your knees from injuries caused by hitting an obstacle, falling to the ground, or from the harmful effects of extended kneeling.
Using knee pads while you dance can significantly reduce future damage to muscles, ligaments and the bones of the knee. Over a lifetime, the knee wears down, even if you only engage in normal activity (walking, sitting, jumping, etc.). Knee pads can help slow down this every day wear and tear process of the joint.
